2. About Health in Asia
HiA operates two distinct services:
2.1 HiA Media. An editorially produced library of articles, condition guides, tools, and other health information relating to private healthcare in Singapore and across Asia. HiA Media is produced in accordance with and governed by our Editorial Policy.
2.2 The HiA Care Concierge team. A medical concierge service that helps users access information about specialists and arrange appointments with specialists and doctors. The Care Concierge team performs administrative and informational work only. It does not provide medical advice, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, triage, prescription guidance, interpretation of medical reports or test results, or any determination of medical necessity. It does not clinically assess whether any specialist is medically appropriate for a user's condition. Matching is based solely on information provided by you rather than any evaluation of your condition.
The Care Concierge team is supported by patient management fees paid by specialists in HiA's referral network when users arrange a consultation through us. Users pay nothing to HiA. The full disclosure is set out in Clause 6.3 below and in our Editorial Policy.
HiA is not a healthcare institution, a medical practice, or a licensed healthcare service. We do not provide healthcare services within the meaning of the Healthcare Services Act 2020 of Singapore.

Any action taken or not taken shall be without prejudice to any other rights or remedies which HiA may have pursuant to this Agreement or otherwise.
5. Content: Not Medical Advice
5.1 All editorial Content on HiA Media is published for general information and educational purposes only and is not tailored to any individual. It is not, and is not intended to be, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and must not be relied upon as such. The applicability of editorial Content to your situation, if any, must be assessed by a qualified medical practitioner. Your use of the Site or Services does not create any doctor-patient relationship between you and HiA or any HiA personnel.
5.2 No Content, editorial or otherwise, is a substitute for consultation with a qualified medical practitioner. If you have or suspect you have a medical condition, consult a registered doctor. In a medical emergency, contact 995 in Singapore or your local emergency service.
5.3 While we take reasonable steps to ensure that editorial Content is accurate at the time of publication and reviewed in accordance with our Editorial Policy, medical knowledge evolves. We do not warrant that any of our Content is current, complete, accurate or applicable to your individual circumstances.
5.4 Any reliance you place on Content is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HiA disclaims liability for any decision made or action taken on the basis of Content, editorial or otherwise.
6. The Care Concierge team
6.1 Nature of the service. The Care Concierge team provides an administrative and informational service. It helps users:
(a) understand what specialties or types of specialists handle particular categories of medical conditions;
(b) access information about Network Specialists, including their stated areas of practice and availability;
(c) arrange appointments with specialists; and
(d) coordinate logistical aspects of appointments, such as scheduling, follow-up and insurance claims.
The Care Concierge team does not provide medical advice, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or triage. It does not evaluate whether any specialist is clinically appropriate for a user's condition. Any clinical judgement is made by the user, in consultation with a qualified medical practitioner.
6.2 How the Care Concierge team responds to user requests. When a user contacts the Care Concierge team, we review the information the user provides about their circumstances. We then provide information about Network Specialists whose stated areas of practice correspond to the user’s request. We may also share information about specialists outside the Network where they may be relevant or of interest to the user. The Care Concierge team's suggestions are based on stated practice area, availability, and operational factors. They are not clinical recommendations.
6.3 Commercial disclosure.
(a) HiA may receive a patient management fee from Network Specialists when a user arranges a consultation with them through the Care Concierge team. This fee is paid by the Network Specialist, not by the user.
(b) The patient management fee compensates HiA for the administrative and informational work involved in operating the Care Concierge team. The fee reflects the work HiA performs and does not vary with the value of the clinical services the Network Specialist provides.
(c) The presence of a specialist in our Network does not mean that that specialist is clinically superior to specialists outside the Network. It means HiA has a service arrangement in place with that Network Specialist and has assessed them as suitable for inclusion in the Network.
(d) Users are free to consult any specialist, whether or not in our Network, and are encouraged to make their own informed choice.
(e) Users pay no fee to HiA for using the Care Concierge team.
6.4 No medical relationship. Your use of the Care Concierge team does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and HiA, or between you and any HiA personnel. Any clinical relationship is between you and a specialist and HiA is not responsible for the clinical services, judgment or conduct of any healthcare provider you choose to consult or engage
6.5 No clinical assessment. The Care Concierge team does not assess your medical condition. Information you share with the Care Concierge team is used to help us understand the type of specialist you are looking for, and is shared with relevant specialists for the purpose of arranging your appointment. It is not used to make any clinical judgement about your care.
6.6 What we do not warrant. HiA does not warrant that any specialist will be available at a particular time, accept your case, or that any consultation will resolve your concern. Decisions about treatment, suitability, and clinical care rest entirely with you and any specialists you consult.
7. Privacy and Personal Data
7.1 HiA is committed to handling Personal Data responsibly and in accordance with the PDPA. Our handling of Personal Data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7.2 By submitting Personal Data to HiA, you consent to and warrant that all necessary consents have been obtained for its collection, use, and disclosure in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the PDPA.
7.3 Where you submit Personal Data to the Care Concierge team for the purpose of arranging a specialist appointment, you consent to and warrant that all necessary consents have been obtained in respect HiA sharing that data with specialists for the purpose of arranging and supporting your medical appointments.
7.4 You acknowledge that transmission of information over the internet is not entirely private or secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its security in transit.
7.5 Your rights under the PDPA, including rights of access, correction, and withdrawal of consent in respect of your Personal Data, are set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Accounts
8.1 Certain Services may require you to register for an account with HiA. If you register, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.
8.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
8.3 Accounts are intended for personal use. You may share access with a member of your household where you are coordinating care on their behalf, but you remain responsible for all activities conducted under the account.

9.2 Personal Data and health information. Personal Data and any health information you submit (including information submitted to the Care Concierge team) are not subject to the licence in Clause 9.1. Such information will be governed by the Privacy Policy and the PDPA, which set out your rights including to withdraw consent to further collection, use and disclosure of the information.
9.3 Your warranties. You represent and warrant that:
(a) all User Content you submit is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe any third-party right;
(b) you have the rights necessary to grant the licence in Clause 9.1 for any User Content you submit; and
(c) your User Content does not contain Personal Data of third parties that you are not authorised to disclose to us.

11. Third-Party Links and Sites

11.2 Some third-party links are included in editorial Content. Where we link to a third-party resource in editorial Content, we exercise reasonable care in selection but do not independently verify the third party's site, content, or practices on an ongoing basis. Inclusion of a link does not constitute endorsement.
